My MBP is up and running 24/7 now, HP laptop working during business hours, and my CD iMac is running at night. I should be back to my "normal" output.
Now I am itching to buy a MP :p

There are many reasons why I think MIcrosoft's efforts are not going to top Apple:
First off....Zune? WTF is Zune? What meaning does it have? Just from the name it sounds like they are trying way too hard. At least iPod works in conjunction to Apple's other line of products and it makes sense. Zune isn't even a word. iPod is a much friendly and cooler name than Zune.
Second, the Zune looks like a cheap knockoff of the iPod, and its already been deemed the "iPod Killer". Ok, you aren't going to kill the iPod by imitating it. Knockoffs are never cooler than the original. Plus we are talking about Microsoft here, when is the last time they ever did any innovation in the computing industry?
Third off, since they suck at innovating and all they can do is immitate, they will always be one step behind Apple and Apple is already years ahead of them and have a stronghold on the music download industry.
But, I'll invite Zune into the market. Since Apple doesn't really have any competition this could create enough competition to make the iPod lineup even better than they arlready are.

Apple is testing the market further if white is a hit. Then they will release the iPhone 5 in blank and white at the same time in late fall!

so i just installed vmware... and ive got to say... its really not up to par with parallels... its sluggish on my MBP 2.0ghz with 2gigs of ram.... and i mean real sluggish... rebooting doesnt seem to want to work.... i do like the interface though but overall, its not that great to work with compare to parallels.... i do realize that this is a private beta but even in the beta stage parallels was much better.....
hope that the next build is more promising
also... i didnt see a way to change the amount of ram dedicated to the virtual machine other then by creating a new vm....
I have to agree, the Video Refresh rate is also noticable compared from Parallels. The Mouse is more sluggish and it just doesn't give you the feel that Parallels does.
I didn't notice any difference from running 2 Cores either :(
It is only a Beta right now so maybe they will have everything up to par soon enough. :)

I personally, needed one since I sold my Power Mac G5 almost 3 years ago. I've been dying ever since at the home office. I'd pay the $129 or whatever to get Lion later, and drop the cash on the iMac now if I needed a machine right this very minute.

I know this does not have much to do with anything in this thread. I have heard Gates owns a some shares of Apple and was wondering how many or what percentage he owns. Pages needs real wordprocessing tools, like cross-references, bibliography, and an outline view. If that's what's in store with Pages 3, I'll be very pleased.
That said, I use Pages 2 every day already, for both copywriting and page layout jobs. It runs quite nicely on my MacBook.
As far as a grammar tool is concerned: that's a useless feature. It never works, in any app, on any platform. And people should simply learn grammar, if they want to write something. It would make much more sense for Apple to include dictionaries and thesauri for other languages. We're not all Americans!

So far, Leopard is something I'm not willing to pay for.
I expected just a little bit of a UI change, it just looks like a little updated version of Tiger.
I really wonder what these top secret features are because the current features aren't impressing me enough to open my wallet.

Tiger (especially Dashboard) changed beyond recognition between it's sneak peek and release.

Interesting, and good news--surprised it took this long. Although the quoted article seems to show a bit of a misunderstanding about how the mouse actually works--yes, some people aren't comfortable with the way it detects clicks, but it has to do with the touch sensors, not "fat buttons".
