It didn't take my 10 year old son long to figure out that he could continue to download apps after asking me to download one for him. Now, if he wants a free app, I wait for it to finish downloading and then i log out of my account before i hand his touch back to him! :mad:

It's about time. But I've had a wireless mouse/keyboard set when I got my iMac G5 Rev. A back in the day, and I quickly got rid of it. I was sick and tired of changing the damn batteries every few weeks. I never mouse or type away from my desk, so I had no use for it, and I'd rather have the ugly wires than deal with the annoyance of buying/changing batteries often. Now, if they were rechargeable (in a dock, I don't want to have to take them out and put them in a seperate charger), I could see using them.

Line at Brea Mall is to Macy's, probably about 150-200 people here.

To become a relevant team, we need to reach 250k units per day, almost double the current rate. We need 70 more iMacs/MacBooks or 5 8-core systems.

There was a recent announcement by Sony saying their deliveries to Apple for an 8MP camera would be delayed due to conditions in Japan. I've read other articles suggesting other iPhone components may be in short supply.
The disaster in Japan may have an impact on their release schedule. It might have been tight before, then the earthquake killed it.

It's a great step. I can't imagine needing more speed than a Thunderbolt connection, for the next decade, IMO. Most people don't specifically need such speed, but it is good to have. As for professional use for large files and video editing: boffo. Looks brilliant.

i have parallels and it works great for me except the whole video thing. i work a lot with video and so that is of course why i got a mac pro :D , but as a freelancer not everything is in final cut so i thought i'd install avid in parallels. well it doesn't think i have a video card and thus wont let me do anything :mad: so if vmware can do that then sign me up.
i also like the whole drag and drop idea, i dont know exactly if parallels can do that, i know you can share a folder, but i picture draging a file from my left monitor(s) to my full screen pc on my right monitor's desktop and it just popping up. that'd be neat but not enough for the switch from parallels.
this is good though because it'll make parallels step it up even more and we'll get some more features quicker.

As a typical consumer, same as a prosumer, or pro -- speed. For example, backing up your iDevice, importing big megapixel photos and HD videos will be a whole lot quicker.
It will also make connections easier as TB can handled video, audio, and data in the same cable.

Actually I could feel that it was slightly heavier as well. I weighed both the black and white model and indeed the white is a little heavier but I really dont care, all my cases that I love (SGP) still work fine so its a "Who Cares" kinda thing as said before.
Oh, jeez, I can't believe you don't know this...charge the black one up to the equivalent level of the white phone and they will weigh exactly the same. ;)

Apple has great products, but we are going to be experiencing more than a recession. Donald Trump stated that what was going to happen in North America is going to make Russia look like a picnic during world war 2. The CEO of Wall-Street stated two years ago that there will be a world economic crash worse than what happened during the 1930's due to the amount of debt. The European Union Banks stated 1.5 years ago that they were preparing their banks for a world economic collapse. Unfortunately most of us are living the status quo and do not want to acknowledge that our way of life is going to drastically change. Unfortunately even a company as great as Apple will not be able to retain the level of what the stocks are worth even at todays low. My advice is pay of your debts... sell your stocks while you still have money, sell your home and then when the collapse occurs then invest.
LOL! The market has stabilized, and the worst of the credit 'crisis' is over. The only recession concerns the housing market- which was inflated due to speculation.
Maybe a little less NPR would do you some good...

An apple branded tv? Perfect area for apples MO. Tvs are yearly updated, usually an incremental upgrade, good ones cost a arm and a leg, always using great adjectives to make a product standout.

the processor trick is with the dev tools. there's a prefpane where u can turn off individual cores, and turn off hyperthreading. too bad there's not a dev tool for overclocking ;)

Although I find the slider buttons pretty, I think these are just a step to touch-interface. It makes sense when you have to actually slide the button (with your fingers). But when using a mouse/trackpad, it is more logical to point at the option you want and the selection will slide to the requested option.
I think this will return when touch-based interface will make its entry.

There are many reasons for this. The crowd of Apple lovers wanted more from Macworld than what they got, and the market has been terrible lately. Their second quarter revenue predictions were very conservative, and some people think they have shone the brightest they will ever, and just don't think their worth it. I disagree, but as much as I would like to be, I'm not the stock market.

What I truly love is when I take the time to apologize for creating a thread, which is absurd, then that very person continues to brow beat me over the content, format, and apparent creation. If using your logic then you creating the last two stepped on the toes of the one who created the one just before yours. Again, this seems absurd and quite childish.
If this is going to ruin your day then please PM me and ask me to have a mod delete this thread to leave it open for you to create a new one. I don't gain anything by creating a new thread, I just saw the other exceeded 2k posts. It was mostly the decline in iPod growth rate, but as someone said here, the market is just becoming saturated. You can thank Apple's insistence on using non user-replaceable batteries and such for sustaining some product momentum at least. You'll always have a good 10% (or so) of the market or so that replaces things ONLY when what they have ceases to work. This is where what I noted above begins to actually positively impact sales figures.
I'm just getting this weird feeling that the baseline will be about 100. I expect a mild resurgence in the next couple weeks, nowhere near 200 or anything, but at least a 10% jump. Then I look for it to tumble down, where I will hopefully pick up some more at around 100. Of course, no one should take my complete speculation as actual advice, this is just the gut feeling I'm getting from the stock right now.
